I write, edit and photograph things for a living, which is pretty fantastic. I’m currently an Associate Editor at Fast Company, where I cover a wide range of topics related to technology, innovation and design.
Some common beats include digital music, data science, privacy, the future of media and the gig economy. I write daily for our Fast Feed news vertical and am always working on a handful of longer, reported features. Some of my recent work can be found here.
Before joining Fast Company, I covered technology trends and news for ReadWrite (formerly ReadWriteWeb), and freelanced for a variety of publications. My work has appeared on VICE’s The Creators Project, Noisey, Esquire, Billboard, Philadelphia Weekly, Plan Philly and WHYY’s Newsworks. I also do some teaching and consulting, most recently teaching a course in digital design at Temple University’s journalism school.
Prior to becoming a full-time writer and editor, I managed online publishing and digital products for Review Publishing, a weekly newspaper company in Philadelphia. I’ve been pretty well-immersed in this whole media/journalism world since 2007 and somehow remain enthusiastic about the whole thing.
When I’m not writing, I play drums in a psychedelic rock band based in Philly, where I live with Walter, a cat that willingly wears a bow tie. I also frequent Austin and New York City.
Hit me up with story tips and/or a friendly hello.
